Customer Reviews

Customer Review: My previous Rove dash cam lasted about 5 years, and it was a hard 5 years for it. I only used the window suction cup thing to attach to the windshield so it wasn't “permanent,” and it was always flying off, rightfully so, when it was too hot/cold/bumpy… so it took a LOT of abuse, smashing against my doors/dash. I was content with how long it lasted – I don't expect any tech devices to last longer than 5 years at this point. Given I had a good experience with that one, I decided to upgrade to a new Rove dash cam.Enter the Rove R2-4K Dual. I figured it would be cool to have the rear view as well this time around. Picture is nice, setup is very quick and easy. The app is definitely an improvement over the last one on my older Rove dash cam. The price point is great for someone looking to get a decent quality dash cam for some added protection.I started having issues with screen flashing and then startup issues, where it wouldn't load the picture and just get stuck on the home/loading screen with the Rove logo. It was spotty and fixed itself, so I just kept chugging along. After a few months, it was a daily occurrence… the troubleshooting I found online didn't fix it, so I reached out to Rove. The customer support was very quick to respond, very thorough, and very easy to troubleshoot with. I did everything they asked, but was still having issues. Since it was most likely an internal issue, they replaced my unit with a new one! I appreciate the responsiveness of the support team, and the fact that they stand by their product means a lot.Even though I had an issue, I would still recommend this product. Manufacturing issues happen. Software issues happen. Hardware issues happen. That's just life with all of our disposable gadgets… BUT I give Rove a lot of credit for providing the support that they do and for standing behind their product to resolve issues like this. I have had zero issues so far with the new unit, and hopefully we stay that way! I haven't experienced any flashing or startup issues, so I think this one is good to go. There would have been signs by now.

Customer Review: I recently installed a video dashcam, and it has been one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my vehicle. The video quality is excellent—clear during both daytime and nighttime driving—making it easy to capture license plates and important details on the road. The setup was quick and straightforward, and the camera mounts securely without obstructing my view. I also appreciate how seamlessly it starts recording automatically when I turn on the car, so I never have to worry about missing anything. Overall, I highly recommend investing in a dashcam. It’s reliable, easy to use, and provides valuable protection for everyday driving.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I’m really happy with this dash cam overall. The video quality is clear and sharp both during the day and at night, and the features are easy to use. It gives me a lot of peace of mind while driving, knowing everything is being recorded reliably. What made the experience even better was the free installation. The installer did an excellent job—very clean and professional. All the wiring was neatly hidden, and it looks like a factory setup with no mess at all. They also made sure everything was working perfectly before I left.Great product and even better service. Highly recommend!

Customer Review: With two cars, I have owned several Vantrue dashcams while upgrading them every year with newer features. The Vantrue Nexus N4S with 2.7K front + 1440P rear + 1440P interior replaces my N4 Pro 3-channel dashcam. In addition to higher resolution, it also includes three Starvis 2 sensors for ultra sharp HD clarity and 150°, 165°, 160° wide angle lenses. These really provide full surround coverage. The cameras are very sharp and colorful at night or in low light, able to read signs and license plates even among changing contrast or street lights. One of the best upgrades is the newest and easiest mounting systems. Everything comes in the box including two mounting plates (for two different cars), static cling films, 3M adhesive, cables, and cable clips. The GPS mount attaches to the mounting plate and the main dashcam mounts magnetically, making removal or swapping between cars very quick.5Ghz WiFi connection makes access and downloading with your phone easy. Vantrue also redesigned this unit for easy on-board control and access. Note the new orange power button also doubles as a snapshot trigger. Direct access for up to 1TB micro SD card and USB-C port is no longer hidden behind a cover. My favorite convenience is the voice commands to switch camera views, take snapshots, start/stop recording, and mute sound.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: This is the best dash cams I’ve owned the quality of the video and ease of use is pretty darn good. ease of installation is really dependent on the type of vehicle you own and the type of installation you want to do. Do you want all the wires neatly tucked away and hidden or do you want to use the sticky cable retention pieces that are in the box and make it easier. And obviously you can always pay a professional to install. I have three things that I would like to see improved on newer models / 2.01. The power button needs to have some kind of isolating rubber around it or be fixed in place. I have 2 different units and all both of them the button vibrates if the road is rough and gets picked up by the two microphones that are on both sides of the power button. The fix is just put a piece of tape over the power button not tight enough to depress it but enough to stop it from moving around. Wolfbox customer service sent me a replacement unit but it did the same thing the power button is a little loose and gets picked up by the microphones.2. Wolfbox phone app, I have Android so I can’t speak to the experience on iOS however for some reason it doesn’t allow me to edit the video in the software it keeps saying that this function is not supported when I go to save. It also creates two file locations. one file of the video will be found in the wolfbox app, another one in my Google photos file. However I can’t access the Google photos one as it is blank and says cannot be played until I delete the one in the wolfbox app then the one in the Google photos app works fine and can be played then. If I delete the one in the Google photos app first it deletes the one in the wolfbox app kind of confusing but I figured it out. Also sometimes playback in the wolfbox app is laggy.3. This isn’t in regards to the camera specifically but to the OEM wolfbox mounts. I have the Jeep one but reading reviews the one that attaches to the window Puck does the same thing. The plastic is pretty thin that mounts to the back of the camera unit it allows vibration into the unit and that can slightly be seen on playback.Overall this is the best camera system I’ve used it’s really nice.. I know some of the stuff I say to the above is some nitpicks I also would like to see the 10-in have the OEM Mount support. I have a 12-in unit and in a jeep my sun visors will hit the unit because it’s so wide. I probably would have purchased the 10-in fir the jeep if it could be mounted to the OEM brackets from Wolfbox but for some reason they cannot.I would definitely buy again I’ve already bought two of them hopefully in a revision they fixed some of the minor issues that I have come across. I also like to see the tri camera unut not be so expensive I really would have liked to get the tri bumper but not for an extra $250 and all it’s adding is one camera the front bumper. Also in closing I’ve been in contact with wolfbox customer service support. Their customer service is probably some of the best I’ve ever experienced they reply on weekends during the night during the day like they must have somebody on 24-hour customer support. They provided possible solutions to the issues. Some of the suggestions work some of them did not however the unit is still an amazing dash cam it’s aesthetically pleasing and an extremely well-functional.

Customer Review: First of all, this product is and does exactly what they claim it does. The 12″ view display is VERY sharp and clear (with a couple of reservations I will address later), the wide angle lenses show everything and more, the GPS is accurate, and the rear-facing camera works very well, especially if you hook up the wire to the backup light so the unit displays the (adjustable) backup lines. Very useful in parking lots! The variety of settings and adjustments are impressive and useful. All-in-all, a really nice product. Now… here's some things I feel you should know…. First, I'm no expert in dashcams. I actually tried an inexpensive windshield mounted one, and it was okay, but I thought it used up too much windshield “square footage” and was a little distracting next to the rear view mirror – the only place I could fit it. Which led me to the units that fit on the existing rearview mirror. MUCH better for what I wanted.I originally just wanted the forward-looking camera and resulting recording, but the GPS was so easy to install, so I did that. Then, after some thought, I wanted to install the rear-looking camera. If you have a sedan with a trunk, this will be very easy. I don't have that. I have a 2009 Ford Escape, a smallish SUV style with a full hatchback as well as a window that opens. Lots of pivot points and moving parts. To get to the license plate light (the recommended routing and placement for the camera), I would have to nearly destroy the inside plastic panel covering the tailgate to route the wiring. And there was no good place inside the glass. So where? It ended up on the outside top driver's side corner of the hatch in line with the luggage rack frame – for a little protection. Not happy with that, but it works, and it's not the manufacturer's fault. Just beware if you have something other than a sedan. You may have to get creative.Another issue is nighttime rear view. The flare from the camera at night is fierce, and not at all useful for viewing out on the highway. In a lighted parking lot, it's fine. Great, even. Also, rain and snow. Just okay, but nothing unexpected or a design fault. It is what it is.Now, one other thing, and it's not a design fault, it's a part of what this device is… Think about it… You strap on this gadget that has a camera pointed straight forward onto your rear view mirror. It has a polished glass surface that is excellent for use as a rear view mirror all on it's own. And what's the first thing you do? You adjust the mirror, angling it down and towards you so you can center the reflection of the rear window in the mirror and see it by just glancing over, correct? And now that camera is pointed up and to the right, not straight ahead. It's a very wide angle lens, and this is not really a problem, but I fixed it by making a small wedge out of foam and inserted it between the unit and the mirror it's mounted on. Now the camera is pointed straight AND the reflection in the mirror is correct AND the rear-facing camera's image generally matches the real reflection. This is important on dark and cloudy days.I know this all sounds like problems and issues, but they are really not. I'm a fussbudget when it comes to stuff like this. This is a really good unit and does it all. I like it a lot.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: Purchased with the hardwire kit and CPL lens filter. Watched multiple YouTube videos on the install. Watch the bad ones as well just to get an idea of how NOT to do the install. After preparing myself, tackled the install over the weekend. Easiest part was installing the back camera. My Hyundai Santa FE SEL has a hatchback, and for most that was their hardest part. I guess the videos helped me prepare. The rear camera was installed in less than an hour. Plenty of cable, routed along the top down the passenger side. The harder part was finding the right place to plug the hardware kit for power. Key points (1) install the ground wire first, (2) install the battery wire on a fuse (or empty) spot that is always on, the battery voltage will read on the display box on the adapter, (3) install the other on another fuse preferably for ACC (needs to be OFF when car is off and ON when the car is on), when you get this one attached start the car and verify the box display changes to say ACC on the display instead of the battery voltage. Then route the power wires to the camera and the rear camera connections to the dashcam. The video is great when playing from a computer. 4K all around and the player you get from the website even has a ZOOM feature. I started using the 12-hour time-laps recordings, this takes up a lot of memory on the card so you only get about 2 days for the 128G card they supply. I’ve switched to just using the G-sensors now to turn on when it detects motion (jarring), and record as I am driving.Overall happy with my purchase, there are a few things I wish it had: (1) ability to adjust the delay between frames for the time-lapse feature would make it better at not using a lot of memory, (2) my model seems to record the front and rear with slightly different numbers at the end and the player doesn’t know how to sync up the timestamps in the video when playing back (for the time being I can rename the rear to end in the same numbers as the front to fix), and (3) the manuals are very light on content only explains the features by name but doesn’t go into detail what they mean… example they talk about the G-sensor with settings for Off/Low/Medium/High but don’t describe which is more sensitive… in some languages Low translates to higher sensitivity to movement. Also the instructions on the video player for the computer is very light in content even the phone app has huge untapped potential. With it you can see real-time your path on a map and the video sent to your phone while driving. Could be expanded to supply directions.Great product overall… may update later with more details as I try and research all the features.Even better support! Their people are on top and respond quickly to try and answer your questions. If I wasn’t such a computer geek I’d probably have a lot more questions.

Customer Review: Solid Dash Cam with Great Support and Value -I bought this dash cam not knowing exactly what to expect. The price was right, and the specs matched what I was looking for. After installation, I noticed the camera stayed powered on even after I turned off the engine. I contacted the company, and their customer service responded promptly. The representative explained possible reasons for the issue and offered to send a hardwire kit to resolve it. However, one of the reasons provided was that the cigarette lighter could stay on after engine was turned off, so I looked it up. I discovered that the cigarette lighter in my car remains active for 45 minutes after the engine shuts off. So, the issue wasn’t with the dash cam—it was with my car’s power settings, which I can reprogram. I thanked the customer service rep and let them know the hardwire kit wasn’t necessary. I appreciated their quick and helpful response. The dash cam itself works well and was easy to set up. The suction cup mount is strong, and I really like the touch screen—it makes operation simple and intuitive. My only complaint is the rear camera wiring: there’s no easy way to hide the long wires, and I really wish future products could have a wireless connection to the main camera.Overall, this is a very nice product for its price range. It delivers solid performance, and the customer support was excellent.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: I will return this product within a few days. The night vision definitely doesn’t work.

Customer Review: Only used a couple times so far. But camera was relatively easy to mount. The only issue I ran into was vertical placement in windshield as my vehicle has sensors beneath the rear view mirror so figuring out how to get the best views of front and inside of vehicle was a little tricky. The up/down adj having more range would have alleviated this issue. This camera only has 3 notch adj’s for up/down so that caused some limitations. To get any benefit of the app requires a subscription. I don’t believe that was noted anywhere in the description of the item. Plus using the app automatically disables the view on the canera. Lastly, I haven’t been able to eject the memory card..usually these types of electronics have spring type trigger mechanism for removing the card. Not this item.

Customer Review: The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using the Vantrue E1 Pro for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed. The camera is small and doesn’t block my view while driving, but the video quality is excellent sharp 4K footage even in foggy or low-light conditions. I took video in SF in low light foggy day.One feature I really like is the voice control. It’s super convenient to just say the command and have it start recording or take a photo while keeping my hands on the wheel. The mobile app works smoothly for reviewing clips and downloading videos directly to my phone, which saves a lot of time.I also installed the included CPL (polarizing) filter and it really helps reduce reflections from the windshield and makes the image look more vivid and clear, especially when driving along the coast.Overall, the Vantrue E1 Pro feels well built, easy to set up, and perfect for capturing scenic drives or daily commutes. I’ve taken it around San Francisco. Highly recommend it!

Complete Buying Guide for Best Dash Cam For Vans

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing the best dash cam for vans, it’s important to consider coverage, video quality, and ease of installation. Vans often require multi-channel recording (front, rear, and interior) due to their size and blind spots. Night vision capability is critical for 24/7 protection, especially if you park your van outdoors. Look for features like G-sensor emergency recording, loop recording, WiFi connectivity, and GPS tracking to enhance functionality. Also, consider the ease of accessing recorded footage via apps or memory cards. These factors ensure you capture clear, reliable videos that can be used in disputes or insurance claims.

Budget Planning

Dash cams come in a range of prices depending on features and build quality. Basic single-camera models start at affordable prices, but if you want comprehensive coverage with multiple cameras, 4K resolution, and advanced features like voice control or GPS, be prepared to invest more. Setting a budget helps narrow down options and avoid overspending on features you may not need. Some dash cams include memory cards and mounting accessories, which can save extra costs.
