Customer Review: “I bought the Garmin RV 795 because I have a 24′ travel trailer and Google Maps is notorious for misrouting travelers into tight spaces. On a few trips it routed me incorrectly into places that were difficult to get out of in my pickup truck alone and would have been a nightmare with a travel trailer. So far, the RV 795 has only directed me on roads where a trailer can safely be towed.You need a lot of information about your trailer and tow vehicle to set this up but the information is readily available online. You’ll need to know the width, height, and weight of your trailer, the weight and length of your tow vehicle, and the total length of the trailer and tow vehicle. You can create profiles for multiple vehicles & combinations so it’s easy to switch from towing a trailer to tow vehicle only.The user interface takes a little getting used to but it’s not terribly difficult. By default you cannot enter or change destination or settings while moving. That is good for the driver (eyes on the road, please!) but you can disable that so the passenger can make updates while the vehicle is in motion.I used the enclosed suction cup to mount the RV 795 on my windshield just below the rearview mirror. I haven’t had a problem with the device attached to the mount but I remove and hide it when parked and twice the mount fell off of the windshield. Only seems to happen when the RV 795 is not on the mount.The Garmin makes it easy to find gas stations. It lists (most of) them in order of distance. The one thing to watch for is that the Garmin cannot tell you if a particular station has the space needed when towing a longer trailer. Best to follow the old rule of thumb when towing: start looking for a gas station when you get to half a tank. That will give you some slack if getting to, into, or out of the nearest gas station would be too difficult.It also has a long list of Campgrounds, State Parks, and RV parks. Updating the info is easy although it can be a bit cumbersome. It updates over wifi. If you have a hotspot on your phone you can use that but it might take quite a while. It works well with home wifi IF you have a way to power the RV 795. I used a ham radio power supply with a cigarette lighter plug like the one that powers the RV 795 while traveling. It would be nice if Garmin sold a power supply specifically for use at home with their GPS systems.The RV 795 give you a lot of information while you are traveling. In addition to directions, it will track your speed vs. the posted limit. Good for people with a lead foot! It also warns about upcoming sharp bends in the road. In my experience it was overly cautious about ‘sharp bend’ warnings but I prefer that to being surprised. There are many other features such as satellite imagery that I’ve just begun to experiment with.Overall, this is a very useful aid for traveling in a recreational vehicle, especially if you are towing,.”

Customer Review: “Purchased with the hardwire kit and CPL lens filter. Watched multiple YouTube videos on the install. Watch the bad ones as well just to get an idea of how NOT to do the install. After preparing myself, tackled the install over the weekend. Easiest part was installing the back camera. My Hyundai Santa FE SEL has a hatchback, and for most that was their hardest part. I guess the videos helped me prepare. The rear camera was installed in less than an hour. Plenty of cable, routed along the top down the passenger side. The harder part was finding the right place to plug the hardware kit for power. Key points (1) install the ground wire first, (2) install the battery wire on a fuse (or empty) spot that is always on, the battery voltage will read on the display box on the adapter, (3) install the other on another fuse preferably for ACC (needs to be OFF when car is off and ON when the car is on), when you get this one attached start the car and verify the box display changes to say ACC on the display instead of the battery voltage. Then route the power wires to the camera and the rear camera connections to the dashcam.The video is great when playing from a computer. 4K all around and the player you get from the website even has a ZOOM feature. I started using the 12-hour time-laps recordings, this takes up a lot of memory on the card so you only get about 2 days for the 128G card they supply. I’ve switched to just using the G-sensors now to turn on when it detects motion (jarring), and record as I am driving.Overall happy with my purchase, there are a few things I wish it had: (1) ability to adjust the delay between frames for the time-lapse feature would make it better at not using a lot of memory, (2) my model seems to record the front and rear with slightly different numbers at the end and the player doesn’t know how to sync up the timestamps in the video when playing back (for the time being I can rename the rear to end in the same numbers as the front to fix), and (3) the manuals are very light on content only explains the features by name but doesn’t go into detail what they mean… example they talk about the G-sensor with settings for Off/Low/Medium/High but don’t describe which is more sensitive… in some languages Low translates to higher sensitivity to movement. Also the instructions on the video player for the computer is very light in content even the phone app has huge untapped potential. With it you can see real-time your path on a map and the video sent to your phone while driving. Could be expanded to supply directions.Great product overall… may update later with more details as I try and research all the features.Even better support! Their people are on top and respond quickly to try and answer your questions. If I wasn’t such a computer geek I’d probably have a lot more questions.”

After installation, I noticed the camera stayed powered on even after I turned off the engine. I contacted the company, and their customer service responded promptly. The representative explained possible reasons for the issue and offered to send a hardwire kit to resolve it. However, one of the reasons provided was that the cigarette lighter could stay on after engine was turned off, so I looked it up. I discovered that the cigarette lighter in my car remains active for 45 minutes after the engine shuts off. So, the issue wasn’t with the dash cam—it was with my car’s power settings, which I can reprogram. I thanked the customer service rep and let them know the hardwire kit wasn’t necessary. I appreciated their quick and helpful response.The dash cam itself works well and was easy to set up. The suction cup mount is strong, and I really like the touch screen—it makes operation simple and intuitive. Customer Review: “This is the best dash cams I’ve owned the quality of the video and ease of use is pretty darn good. ease of installation is really dependent on the type of vehicle you own and the type of installation you want to do. Do you want all the wires neatly tucked away and hidden or do you want to use the sticky cable retention pieces that are in the box and make it easier. And obviously you can always pay a professional to install. I have three things that I would like to see improved on newer models / 2.01. The power button needs to have some kind of isolating rubber around it or be fixed in place. I have 2 different units and all both of them the button vibrates if the road is rough and gets picked up by the two microphones that are on both sides of the power button. The fix is just put a piece of tape over the power button not tight enough to depress it but enough to stop it from moving around. Wolfbox customer service sent me a replacement unit but it did the same thing the power button is a little loose and gets picked up by the microphones.2. Wolfbox phone app, I have Android so I can’t speak to the experience on iOS however for some reason it doesn’t allow me to edit the video in the software it keeps saying that this function is not supported when I go to save. It also creates two file locations. one file of the video will be found in the wolfbox app, another one in my Google photos file. However I can’t access the Google photos one as it is blank and says cannot be played until I delete the one in the wolfbox app then the one in the Google photos app works fine and can be played then. If I delete the one in the Google photos app first it deletes the one in the wolfbox app kind of confusing but I figured it out. Also sometimes playback in the wolfbox app is laggy.3. This isn’t in regards to the camera specifically but to the OEM wolfbox mounts. I have the Jeep one but reading reviews the one that attaches to the window Puck does the same thing. The plastic is pretty thin that mounts to the back of the camera unit it allows vibration into the unit and that can slightly be seen on playback.Overall this is the best camera system I’ve used it’s really nice.. I know some of the stuff I say to the above is some nitpicks I also would like to see the 10-in have the OEM Mount support. I have a 12-in unit and in a jeep my sun visors will hit the unit because it’s so wide. I probably would have purchased the 10-in fir the jeep if it could be mounted to the OEM brackets from Wolfbox but for some reason they cannot.I would definitely buy again I’ve already bought two of them hopefully in a revision they fixed some of the minor issues that I have come across. I also like to see the tri camera unut not be so expensive I really would have liked to get the tri bumper but not for an extra $250 and all it’s adding is one camera the front bumper. Also in closing I’ve been in contact with wolfbox customer service support. Their customer service is probably some of the best I’ve ever experienced they reply on weekends during the night during the day like they must have somebody on 24-hour customer support. They provided possible solutions to the issues. Some of the suggestions work some of them did not however the unit is still an amazing dash cam it’s aesthetically pleasing and an extremely well-functional.”

Customer Review: “First of all, this product is and does exactly what they claim it does. The 12” view display is VERY sharp and clear (with a couple of reservations I will address later), the wide angle lenses show everything and more, the GPS is accurate, and the rear-facing camera works very well, especially if you hook up the wire to the backup light so the unit displays the (adjustable) backup lines. Very useful in parking lots! The variety of settings and adjustments are impressive and useful. All-in-all, a really nice product.Now… here’s some things I feel you should know…. First, I’m no expert in dashcams. I actually tried an inexpensive windshield mounted one, and it was okay, but I thought it used up too much windshield “square footage” and was a little distracting next to the rear view mirror – the only place I could fit it. Which led me to the units that fit on the existing rearview mirror. MUCH better for what I wanted.I originally just wanted the forward-looking camera and resulting recording, but the GPS was so easy to install, so I did that. Then, after some thought, I wanted to install the rear-looking camera. If you have a sedan with a trunk, this will be very easy. I don’t have that. I have a 2009 Ford Escape, a smallish SUV style with a full hatchback as well as a window that opens. Lots of pivot points and moving parts. To get to the license plate light (the recommended routing and placement for the camera), I would have to nearly destroy the inside plastic panel covering the tailgate to route the wiring. And there was no good place inside the glass. So where? It ended up on the outside top driver’s side corner of the hatch in line with the luggage rack frame – for a little protection. Not happy with that, but it works, and it’s not the manufacturer’s fault. Just beware if you have something other than a sedan. You may have to get creative.Another issue is nighttime rear view. The flare from the camera at night is fierce, and not at all useful for viewing out on the highway. In a lighted parking lot, it’s fine. Great, even. Also, rain and snow. Just okay, but nothing unexpected or a design fault. It is what it is.Now, one other thing, and it’s not a design fault, it’s a part of what this device is… Think about it… You strap on this gadget that has a camera pointed straight forward onto your rear view mirror. It has a polished glass surface that is excellent for use as a rear view mirror all on it’s own. And what’s the first thing you do? You adjust the mirror, angling it down and towards you so you can center the reflection of the rear window in the mirror and see it by just glancing over, correct?And now that camera is pointed up and to the right, not straight ahead. It’s a very wide angle lens, and this is not really a problem, but I fixed it by making a small wedge out of foam and inserted it between the unit and the mirror it’s mounted on. Now the camera is pointed straight AND the reflection in the mirror is correct AND the rear-facing camera’s image generally matches the real reflection. This is important on dark and cloudy days.I know this all sounds like problems and issues, but they are really not. I’m a fussbudget when it comes to stuff like this. This is a really good unit and does it all. I like it a lot.”

Customer Review: “I am very pleased with the camera.The clarity of the videos is great.The wiring kit was straight forward to install and works fine.I purchased the ROVE R2-4K PRO and Dash Cam hard-wire kit.Initially I purchased another SD card but after reading the ROVE documentation, I returned the card and purchased the ROVE SD card. I don’t need problems.There are many things I like about the camera and wiring kit.The first thing I noticed when I opened the camera box is there is a ribbon that holds the lid,nice touch.I installed the camera myself and there was a learning curve.Mounting the camera was easy.Initially I used the suction mount to try different locations. Then I used the sticky mountfor the final install because the mount went on the area of the windshield that has the black dots, frits, and the suction mount does not stick to that area.One thing I learned was when I switched from the suction mount to the sticky mount I was not sure how to get the mount off of the camera. It clicks on when you install the mount, and I did not want to break anything. But what I found is the bases for the mounts are the same so you just need to unscrew the top part of the mount, easy.Another thing to be aware of is if you use the sticky mount the part of the mount that goes on the windshield has a slot for the camera to slide into. Be careful to install it with the slot up, or the camera will fall out of the mount.Although the manuals that were included with the camera and wiring kit were excellent, as good as I have seen on products lately, there was still a learning curve for me.I chose the wiring kit because I did not want the wires hanging down and I really liked the fact the wiring kit has a feature that protects the battery from being run down if the car is not driven for a while. There are settings on the wiring kit that will shut the camera off if the voltage drops below a voltage that you select. I chose 12.2V and did test it and it worked properly.I watched Youtube videos of what fuse locations to use. When I did the initial install the camera turned on but did not go into park mode when I shut the car off. I ended up calling ROVE for help.I was very impressed with their help.I called and their message recommended I text so I did and they responded right away.We handled all my questions via texts, which worked well as I was able to organize my thoughts and include pictures.With their help, I ended up choosing a different fuse slot and now the camera works fine.On the install, I used the trim tool that was included with the kit, nice touch.I also used the little wire clips with sticky backs that were included with the wiring kit, another nice touch.”

This was AFTER they sent me a tracking email telling me when to expect it.According to Jeniffer, the person who was trying to help me, her manager said ROVE was not responsible for my mistake and I should take up my case with Amazon.Just to be clear, I NEVER asked them to send me a new memory card; I simply asked them that if they find my memory card in the returned item, I’d appreciate if they would mail it back to me and I’ll gladly pay the postage. It was ROVE that got my hopes high and promised to send a new memory card that I NEVER asked for it.So after my review below, the whole thing soured within a matter of minutes and left a very bitter taste in my mouth. From unboxing to set-up to the picture quality – everything is simply top-notch.Now with my story – I bought this dash cam a couple of weeks before the Amazon Prime Day for a price of roughly $140. I also bought a ROVE memory card with 512gb capacity and a anti-glare filter to go with the camera. All was going well until Amazon Prime Day when the price of this camera dropped to $85. Naturally, I was not too thrilled about it for paying $55 more just a few days ago. Luckily for me, the product was still within the refundable period. So I initiated a refund and reordered the same product – this time for only $85.So I removed the lens filter from the lens, packed up the product in its original box and dropped it at our local Kohl’s drop center for a full refund. Imagine my horror when one day later, I realized that I had left the 512gb memory card ($65) in the camera!!After cursing myself for a couple of hours for my stupidity, I sent an email to the support department of the ROVE Dash Cam explaining what I had done. At that point I figured I had nothing to lose but there was no harm in taking a chance.
