It is very easy to transfer videos to your phone while sitting in the car. The physical button to cycle different views and also turn the screen off for night time vision is a nice touch. The design of it is moderately small so it doesn’t take up a ton of real estate on the windshield. Ive also never had an issue connecting my phone to it. There are two speeds of wifi to pick from, dont pick the 2.7 or whatever it is. Go with the 5. Takes about a minute to transfer a 5min video. (You can set recording to be 3mins or 5mins and one even less time. Ive found 3 minute recordings to be the sweet spot.)Con: I wish the rear camera wasn’t so fisheyed. If I get rear ended, you cannot tell if the driver was looking at their phone or whatever. The direction states to mount the camera outside the trunk. I am apprehensive of this. If I am rear ended, the camera will be destroyed and Im not confident the footage will be saved/or corrupted. I chose to mount it on top of my rear window and you get a much better view.Im also not able to get parking mode to work, but I believe thats an issue with my vehicle and not the camera.If youre looking for your first dashcam, I recommend this.”

I only used the window suction cup thing to attach to the windshield so it wasn’t ‘permanent,’ and it was always flying off, rightfully so, when it was too hot/cold/bumpy… so it took a LOT of abuse, smashing against my doors/dash. I was content with how long it lasted – I don’t expect any tech devices to last longer than 5 years at this point. Given I had a good experience with that one, I decided to upgrade to a new Rove dash cam.Enter the Rove R2-4K Dual. I figured it would be cool to have the rear view as well this time around. Picture is nice, setup is very quick and easy. The app is definitely an improvement over the last one on my older Rove dash cam. The price point is great for someone looking to get a decent quality dash cam for some added protection.I started having issues with screen flashing and then startup issues, where it wouldn’t load the picture and just get stuck on the home/loading screen with the Rove logo. It was spotty and fixed itself, so I just kept chugging along. After a few months, it was a daily occurrence… the troubleshooting I found online didn’t fix it, so I reached out to Rove. The customer support was very quick to respond, very thorough, and very easy to troubleshoot with. I did everything they asked, but was still having issues. Since it was most likely an internal issue, they replaced my unit with a new one! I appreciate the responsiveness of the support team, and the fact that they stand by their product means a lot.Even though I had an issue, I would still recommend this product. Manufacturing issues happen. Software issues happen. Hardware issues happen. That’s just life with all of our disposable gadgets… BUT I give Rove a lot of credit for providing the support that they do and for standing behind their product to resolve issues like this. I have had zero issues so far with the new unit, and hopefully we stay that way! I haven’t experienced any flashing or startup issues, so I think this one is good to go. There would have been signs by now.”
