This camera can really give you peace of mind knowing you can always keep track of your vehicle. You can open the app and view live 1080p footage from your cameras at any time. Everything was packaged really nicely and it arrived safe and sound. It was very quick and easy to set up. Being powered by the OBD made installation a breeze and keeps it powered at all times. After you download the app and pair the camera with your phone, you are good to go. When someone comes close to your vehicle the radar detects it and sends an alert to your phone. That allows you to view the camera in live time to see if there is a threat to your vehicle. The radar reaches a good distance and will easily pick up somebody walking close to your vehicle. If something touches your vehicle you will get a vehicle vibration alert also. The vibration alert is very sensitive. I was sitting in the vehicle and turned the radio up. I got an alert because the speakers set off the sensor. The cameras record everything and uploads it to the cloud so even if something happens to your camera, you still have access to the footage. The camera has really good footage at night. You can see everything inside and outside of the vehicle very clearly. The inside camera has very good coverage of the entire inside of the vehicle. The speaker and microphone on the camera work very well. Mine went through my car speakers and it was very easy to communicate with someone. You could easily talk to whoever is driving the vehicle if you needed to give them directions or warn them of something. The built in GPS lets you open the app and see exactly where the vehicle is. It will show the location to you on an interactive map. I am very happy with this camera. Someone could use these to keep track of multiple vehicles. Picture is nice, setup is very quick and easy. The app is definitely an improvement over the last one on my older Rove dash cam. The price point is great for someone looking to get a decent quality dash cam for some added protection. I started having issues with screen flashing and then startup issues, where it wouldn’t load the picture and just get stuck on the home/loading screen with the Rove logo. It was spotty and fixed itself, so I just kept chugging along. After a few months, it was a daily occurrence… the troubleshooting I found online didn’t fix it, so I reached out to Rove. The customer support was very quick to respond, very thorough, and very easy to troubleshoot with. I did everything they asked, but was still having issues. Since it was most likely an internal issue, they replaced my unit with a new one! I appreciate the responsiveness of the support team, and the fact that they stand by their product means a lot. Even though I had an issue, I would still recommend this product. Manufacturing issues happen. Software issues happen. Hardware issues happen. That’s just life with all of our disposable gadgets… BUT I give Rove a lot of credit for providing the support that they do and for standing behind their product to resolve issues like this. Crystal clear video, front at 4k and back at 2k, produce high resolution video where you can read license plates and even identify who was driving another vehicle. Even more importantly, it has a good app that you can use to directly download video from the cam without pulling the card and taking it to a computer. Just in case you are in an accident, you can instantly download the relevant video to your phone and show to Law Enforcement and e-mail to your insurance company. This is hugely important so a ticket can be issued to the at-fault party on scene as my wife did. If you can’t show the officer when writing the report, they may issue the ticket to the wrong party or no one if they can’t figure out who was at fault. If this happens, it’s a long up-hill battle to get the other party’s insurance to pay out and the police will never cancel an incorrectly issued ticket, so it forces you to go to court to defend yourself. If you are in a serious accident (if anyone goes to the hospital, it’s serious), the officer may confiscate the SD card or even the whole camera for evidence.
