Customer Review: “The first thing I will say about this is that you should charge this device right away as the camera could already be low on power. I would recommend charging it in your home before installing it into your car so you can have plenty of power before installing this in your car. It does come with tools needed to install or uninstall (it came with a prying tool). This is a pretty nice camera to have if you are looking for the bit of additional security for your car. The camera does require a cable to charge or power the device. The nice thing is that the cables that it comes with is super long. This can make the cables easier to hide in your car as you can tuck it into the edges. It also runs pretty far. One thing the cables are fairly thick so it can be a challenge to fold to your liking but at least you know it’s durable. Also, the small screen is not very noticeable on the dashcam which is great for space saving while giving you the option of playing back the video. When driving, the screen does turn off so it does not hinder your driving but it is still recording. It also does not blind you with the screen brightness although this is placed in front of my rear view mirror. Again it does have an internal battery to keep the device running while you are away from your car. It will not constantly record and shut off after a certain amount of time. It comes with a suction to mount it on your window which is what I recommend for the best view. Mounting it on your your dash can damage it overtime also I am not really sure if you can invert the image when recording (never tried). Right off the bat, this product does come with all the wiring you will need to hook this device up. It also has the necessary length. The nice thing is that the second camera can be turned around to face you and record the inside of your car. This is great if you happen to be driving uber. You do need to turn the second camera around as it is facing forward when you first get it. Also the screen will always default to the forward camera as well when you want to view it on the small screen. The cameras themselves are fairly easy to install in the back and front. I had a chance to test it in rain weather and the camera still provides a good picture through the rain soaked window. In my option, the front camera is actually nicer than the other in terms of video and picture quality. That being said, it provides the best recording in case something was to happen. The controls do take some time to get used to. The buttons do have labels on them that you cannot really read from a distance but I got it memorized overtime. I would recommend having it plugged in at all times to let it recharge during the drive. The battery has not degraded from all the constant charging that I can tell. There is a down side to this in that the device does not always power on when I turn my car on. It sometimes resets and turns off which is a bit annoying. Because the screen is off when on stand by and driving, sometimes I do not notice it is not on at all. Now I have never ran into anything so I am unsure if it will actually continue to record on collision nor would I ever want to be in a collision. It does however keep a pretty good recording. Be aware the screen is not touch screen and has to be controlled via controls on the side. I did try installing at 128 gb card but it does come with a 64 gb micro sd card which should be more than enough memory for what you need. The 128 gb did work with it but I did not try anything higher than that so I am not really sure if it will work. It records in a loop so it’ll override any old footage. Overall the dash cam is nice. It turns on by itself when you power the car on. It has decent video quality and it is nice that both cameras are on one unit. Be aware to turn the camera in one direction as it will not turn in the other. Also do not turn on the hinges too fast to avoid breaking it. I also like it provides a lot of different accessories and tools. It also easy to remove the camera from the mount so you can easily take it to remove footage and such. That being said there is no kind of security lock of any kind so the camera can easily be taken off.” – Customer

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: “My previous Rove dash cam lasted about 5 years, and it was a hard 5 years for it. I only used the window suction cup thing to attach to the windshield so it wasn’t ‘permanent,’ and it was always flying off, rightfully so, when it was too hot/cold/bumpy… so it took a LOT of abuse, smashing against my doors/dash. I was content with how long it lasted – I don’t expect any tech devices to last longer than 5 years at this point. Given I had a good experience with that one, I decided to upgrade to a new Rove dash cam.Enter the Rove R2-4K Dual. I figured it would be cool to have the rear view as well this time around. Picture is nice, setup is very quick and easy. The app is definitely an improvement over the last one on my older Rove dash cam. The price point is great for someone looking to get a decent quality dash cam for some added protection.I started having issues with screen flashing and then startup issues, where it wouldn’t load the picture and just get stuck on the home/loading screen with the Rove logo. It was spotty and fixed itself, so I just kept chugging along. After a few months, it was a daily occurrence… the troubleshooting I found online didn’t fix it, so I reached out to Rove. The customer support was very quick to respond, very thorough, and very easy to troubleshoot with. I did everything they asked, but was still having issues. Since it was most likely an internal issue, they replaced my unit with a new one! I appreciate the responsiveness of the support team, and the fact that they stand by their product means a lot.Even though I had an issue, I would still recommend this product. Manufacturing issues happen. Software issues happen. Hardware issues happen. That’s just life with all of our disposable gadgets… BUT I give Rove a lot of credit for providing the support that they do and for standing behind their product to resolve issues like this. I have had zero issues so far with the new unit, and hopefully we stay that way! I haven’t experienced any flashing or startup issues, so I think this one is good to go. There would have been signs by now.” – Customer
Customer Review: “I recently installed a video dashcam, and it has been one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my vehicle. The video quality is excellent—clear during both daytime and nighttime driving—making it easy to capture license plates and important details on the road. The setup was quick and straightforward, and the camera mounts securely without obstructing my view. I also appreciate how seamlessly it starts recording automatically when I turn on the car, so I never have to worry about missing anything. Overall, I highly recommend investing in a dashcam. It’s reliable, easy to use, and provides valuable protection for everyday driving.” – Customer

Customer Review: “I bought this webcam for my nephew for his car and it’s perfect! The first thing that caught my eye was the unique design with the rotating lenses. Unlike other webcams on the market, this will be helpful if you need to record other angles or activities on the driver side. I was also surprised by the high quality resolution from the video, the picture is very clear and detailed. I also liked the thin design of the webcam, the nice colors makes it actually look good on the windshield and not a huge eye sore like other webcams. Installation was pretty easy so shouldn’t be much of a problem. All you need is to get the SD card for extra storage and you’re good to go!” – Customer
Customer Review: “Excellent camera!! Was able to submit the footage to my insurance company after being rear ended and the footage clearly recorded and showed I was not at fault. We have this camera for each vehicle, and will be purchasing a 4th for our new driver. Well worth the cost!” – Customer
Complete Buying Guide for Best Dash Cam For Taxis
Essential Factors We Consider
When selecting the best dash cam for taxis, important factors include video quality, especially in low light, to capture crucial details such as license plates and passenger activity. Dual or triple camera systems covering both the road and interior provide comprehensive protection. Features like GPS and WiFi enhance usability by allowing location tracking and easy video transfer. Durable power sources such as supercapacitors withstand heat and long hours on the road. Parking mode and G-sensors are valuable for monitoring the vehicle when idle or during collisions.
Budget Planning
Dash cams for taxis vary widely in price depending on features and build quality. Budget options often provide reliable 1080P dual cameras with night vision and basic parking modes. Mid-range and premium models offer 4K resolution, multiple cameras, WiFi, GPS, and longer warranty periods. Consider what features are most critical for your daily taxi operations and choose accordingly to balance cost and protection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why do taxi drivers need dual or triple dash cams?

A: Parking mode monitors the vehicle when it is parked and records video if motion or impacts are detected. This helps capture hit-and-run incidents or vandalism when the taxi is unattended.
Q: What is the benefit of a supercapacitor over a battery in dash cams?
A: Supercapacitors are more heat-resistant and durable than traditional batteries, making them ideal for dash cams used in vehicles that experience temperature extremes, such as taxis operating long hours.
